How to take action
Taking action for problems does not mean you must change the world. Change starts with everyone and each small thing adds up. You can start by looking back and realizing how art impacts you on a daily basis. In school you completed projects, and at work you come up with designs to present. Worksheets are replaced with drawings and kids get to use their imagination. Change can happen but it's okay if you can't contribute a lot. Look to the right for some ideas on things to do to help. No particular order:)
My action item checklist
Here are some things you can do to help start bringing change
- Look into your schools budget and see how much goes to the arts vs everything else
- Call/write schoolboard members to voice your opinion on where the budget should go
- Suport your schools arts, go to the theatre productions and the band and choir concerts. Look at students art in the halls and explore the arts in your own school
